Ubuntu in the Library

A few months ago I conducted an interview with a library in Maryland about their use of Ubuntu and GNOME on 300 of their public-use PCs.

The interview was published today in the GNOME Journal.

One of my goals for the interview was to figure out what problems they had with the software so that we, as a community, could improve it for them, but it really sounds like it works great for them as-is.

So that got me thinking, why don’t libraries all over the country, or all over the world, run Ubuntu? I imagine that most libraries have similar requirements for their public-use PCs.
